Volume One::2 "Organs"

                                           Chapter Two

Yuri opened her front door and stepped inside. She walked into the living room and sat down heavily on her couch. Keisuke. . .Something's not right about him. Yuri looked around. The house was empty. It was inhabited a long time ago by a large family— Yuri, Yiru, her mother and her father. Yiru was Yuri's twin sister, and though they looked alike, they were so different.
Yiru was bubbly and optimistic, always smiling and laughing. She was very pretty, and she wore her hair out of her face. Yuri was the opposite. She was plain and gloomy, always blushing and nervous. Yuri didn't consider herself pretty, mainly because smiling wasn't really something she did often. Even though they looked different, Yuri and Yiru were best friends. One day, Yiru went out with a boyfriend or something. The bridge they were walking on collapsed. Yiru died.
Her mother was driving home from work. She was under the bridge when it collapsed. She and at least seventy others died in their cars. Her father, on the other hand, always worked across oceans in different countries, different states. He hardly ever returned home. When he heard what had happened, he started drinking and gambling. Yuri, luckily, didn't have to deal with any debt of his, because he never came home. Though most nights Yuri was kept awake by worry for her beloved father. My only family left.
On a rather different subject, sudden questions had popped up about Keisuke. Why was he outside of my school? Why was he looking in my classroom's direction? What was he doing inside of my school?! Why did he help me? Why was he waiting for me at the end of the day? Is he some sort of pervert? That can't be, he's kinda nice. Though he's ditching school. . .How did he know where I lived. . .? Yuri shuddered, wondering what she had gotten herself in to.
A door opened in a different room. Yuri turned, surprised. The wind? But then someone stepped into the living room. Yuri fell off the couch and began struggling towards the door. "Yuri. . .Wait. . ." they murmured. Yuri stopped, her hand clutching the knob. She turned slowly. The man had a bottle in his hand, and he reeked of alcohol. He had his hair pushed back out of his face, dark shadows under his eyes. He looked awful, exhausted and drunk. "D-Daddy?"
Yuri's father crossed the room and hugged her. "I can hardly recognize you. You've gotten so big." he slurred. "D-Dad, what are you talking about? I sent you pictures. . ." Yuri said, uncomfortable. "W-Where are my manners? Let me welcome you home. I'll make some tea." she said, finding an excuse to break away from the man's hug. "Good idea." he said, taking a swig of liquor.
Yuri set a tea tray down on the kotatsu table and sat down opposite of her father. "You don't have to sit so formally." he said. She loosened up a bit, but she was still stiff. "Honey, I have some serious news." her father said. "O-Oh, do you? Let's hear it then." she said, sipping her tea. "It seems your father is in a bit of trouble."
She froze mid-gulp. A bit of trouble, when dealing with her father, was incredibly big trouble. "I was gambling with some friends," he said, sipping his tea as well, "when we decided to have some fun. We upped the bets by. . .a lot. Turns out I lost to a man who isn't such a good man. He owns a very bad business, and Daddy's going to have to hide for a bit." Yuri dropped her tea. "That's not the baddest part yet." he said, speaking like a child. "What else?" Yuri asked darkly. "He sent me a document the next day. I signed it. I sold something important." he said.
"Oh, Daddy, not our house. . ." Yuri pleaded. "No." he said, but then fell silent. "Then what?" she asked. "I sold your organs, sweetie."
She stood up, trembling. "W-W-W. . ." she tried, but she couldn't finish her thought. He opened his mouth to say something, but Yuri was out the door. She was barefoot, she had no jacket, and she was wearing a skirt. It's snowing, genius. She stumbled and grabbed a tree for support. Please let it be a joke. Please let it be an awful, cruel joke from a drunk man. she begged in thought. "The girl just ran out of the house. That drunkard was supposed to occupy her long enough for us to sedate her. . ." Yuri heard someone say. She turned to see a small girl and a taller boy talking. "She can't have gotten far," the girl said. They were approaching her. Yuri hid quickly, her breathing quickened and sharp. She clamped her hand over her mouth to muffle her breath. "What's her name again?" the male asked. "Ninomiya Yuri." the girl answered.
That did it. Yuri let out a sob. "There she is." the girl said. "Let's get—" the male started, before there was the sound of footsteps. "Hey." a familiar voice said. It was Keisuke's voice. Yuri whirled, stunned. Keisuke's going to get himself killed! "Run, Ninomiya-san." he said. Yuri stepped out from behind the tree, hesitating. Keisuke smiled softly. "I'll catch up." he promised. Yuri rocketed off, wiping her eyes. "Wait!!" the girl cried. "Mari, after her." the male said. Mari started the chase, but Keisuke grabbed her by the hair and threw her. "Tomoki!" Mari cried. Tomoki snarled and then was upon Keisuke.
Yuri stopped, panting. She wiped her mouth. It's freezing. . .She hugged herself, shivering. There were footsteps behind her. "NO!!!" she screamed, thrashing her arms out. Keisuke caught her, out of breath. "Hey, hey, chill. Er, never mind, you look chilled enough already." he said, stripping his jacket off. He wrapped it around her. "What are you doing, dressed like that?? What did those two want with you?" he asked, lifting her from the ground. Se rubbed her cold feet, grateful. "A-Actually, my dad. . .sold my organs. Or so he says. I hope it's a joke. . ." Yuri said. Keisuke frowned. "That's kind of serious to be a joke." he said.
"I know. . ." she answered. "It's probably not safe to go home, is it?" Keisuke muttered, rubbing her shoulders. Yuri snuggled closer, freezing. Her teeth were chattering. "You're practically blue. Look, I have a friend. A real otaku, almost glued to his computer, but he's a charming fellow. He's a good guy. His heart's in the right place. Would you mind staying with him?" Keisuke asked. Yuri nodded, ready to agree to anything to get someplace warm and safe. "Don't go to school. Don't go outside." Keisuke warned her. "S-Stop tal-talking already and let's g-g-go!!" she hissed, ready to crack. "Pfft." Keisuke laughed. "Sorry. Alright." he said.
"Ichihari." Keisuke called, kicking the door open. "Hmm. . .?" someone murmured, looking away from his computer. "A girl. A live one, too. Can I dissect her?" Ichihari mumbled, standing up. "Touch her and I swear I'll kill you." Keisuke muttered. "She needs to stay here for awhile." Dissect? Did he say dissect?! Yuri thought, squirming. "Don't worry, he won't touch you." Keisuke said. He looked up and at Ichihari, smiling crookedly. "Will you, Ichihari-kun?" he asked. Ichihari rubbed the back of his neck, then shrugged.
"What's yer name?" he asked Yuri. "N-Ninomiya Yuri," she answered. "I can't see her face." Ichihari said. "So?" Keisuke muttered, sighing. "What if she isn't cute? I don't want a not-cute girl." Ichihari said, frowning. Keisuke set Yuri down and slammed his fist into Ichihari's cheek. "Will you take her?" he said coldly. Ichihari got off the ground, spitting blood onto Keisuke's cheek in return. "I'll take her. Where are you going?" he muttered. "Business." Keisuke said, grinning. "Ninomiya, if you ever need me, call me. I'll be right over." he said. Yuri nodded, shocked senseless. "Ichihari, take care of Ninomiya-san." Ichihari nodded. "Bye bye, Ryuji." he said, closing the door as Keisuke left. He slowly looked at Yuri. "Tell me, sweetheart, what are you doing with an Assassin?" he asked. "A-Assassin? Who?" she asked. "Ryuji." Ichihari said, frowning. "K-Keisuke-kun?!" she snapped. He flinched. "Loud, loud. . ." he murmured. "Obviously. Ryuji's an Assassin, you know?"

Volume One::1 "Typically Insane"

Chapter One

Typical morning. Typical school. Typically insane. Ninomiya Yuri had her chin resting on her palm, slightly bored. She glanced out the window, seeing something moving. In the snow, there was a bright red apple. The apple was attached onto a body, and Yuri realized the apple wasn't an apple at all. It was someone's head.
The person had their head tilted up to face the sky, the snow falling in large, feathery flakes. Yuri wondered why someone was standing outside in the freezing snow in front of a school. Maybe they were ditching. Sighing, Yuri returned her attention to the classroom.
School hadn't started yet. There was five minutes to go before classes officially began. Everyone was talking in some way, either on the phone or in large groups. All these people were friends. Or they were friends of friends. Either way. they were talking loudly, laughing. Yuri looked back at the window bitterly. She examined her reflection. Her black hair hung in front of her eyes, the rest dangling around the back of her neck. No one had seen her eyes, but she could see through her bangs surprisingly well. Sighing once again, Yuri waited for class to start.

"Late! Late! I'm so late," Yuri whispered sharply, shoving everything she needed into her bag. She wrapped a scarf around her neck and sprinted out the door. She passed someone by as she ran. She glanced at him then did a double-take. He had bright red hair. "You're from—" she started, before her watch beeped. "S-So late!!" she moaned, running off. He stared after her, gulping something down. He wiped his mouth, licking the top clean.
"Is anyone absent?" Yuri heard the teacher ask. The room was buzzing and incredibly loud. "U-Um, I'm late, but I'm he—" she tried, her voice soft. "HEY!! You stole my pencil!" someone snapped, interrupting her. "E-Excuse me. . ." she tried again, her face flushing. "Is anyone absent?" the teacher repeated, unable to hear Yuri. "I think we're all here." someone said. "Not that quiet girl!" someone chirped. Yuri snapped to attention. "Ninomiya Yuri? Is Ninomiya Yuri here?" the teacher asked, looking around. Someone, rushing by Yuri, knocked her out of the room. "Uwah!" she cried, falling back. Someone caught her. She looked up, though they could not see her eyes. The red-haired male. "Ninomiya Yuri?" he asked darkly. She could only see one of his eyes. she gaped, his appearance the strangest thing she had ever seen. Bright red hair and ominous purple eyes. She nodded.
He kicked the door open, still clutching Yuri's waist. "Oi. Ninomiya Yuri is here." he barked. Silence. "A-Ah, Ninomiya-san, why didn't you speak up?" the teacher asked, giving off an artificial laugh. "I-I'm sorry." Yuri said, shocked at this guy's announcement. "And who might you be?" the teacher asked, smiling softly. "Keisuke." the male said simply. "Are you a transfer?" the teacher went on, showing her impatience. "No. But I couldn't help but oversee this little situation." Keisuke said. "So, since I don't go to this school. . .You can't really touch me." he said, shrugging. Keisuke looked straight into the eyes of the guy who had pushed Yuri on accident. The guy shuddered, stepping back. Keisuke smirked. "You know, you oughta apologize." he said. The boy quickly did so. "Good boy. Here's your reward." On the word 'reward', Keisuke slammed his fist into the boy's nose. Yuri flinched, and others stepped out of the way as the boy fell back. Stunned, everyone looked up at Keisuke, who had taken Yuri's hand. He smiled at her, saying, "Speak out. Be heard." With that, he left. Yuri stared at her hand, then gaped at the boy. The teacher snapped back to reality and started to help the boy up.
Yuri was on a high all day. Keisuke had been on her mind. Even better, she knew his name. Keisuke. . .The bell rang. Silently, Yuri stood up. She tied her scarf around her neck again, then tightened her coat around herself. It was still snowing. "Ninomiya-san!" the teacher called. Yuri walked over to her. "I'm sorry about this morning. However, if you see that Keisuke fellow again, do give him a good scolding." she said. Yuri nodded, trying not to grin. She bid the teacher goodbye and exited the school. Her breath showed in front of her, and she blew out in a circle. Her grandfather had once given her his pipe to try. She hated the sickly sweet taste of the tobacco, so he took her outside and taught her how to form the circle in the air. He died a few years ago.
"That's pretty cool." someone said. Yuri turned, startled. Keisuke smiled down at her, sitting on a branch high above her. "K-Keisuke," Yuri said, startled. "Hiya, Ninomiya-san." he greeted, jumping down. He was a lot taller than Yuri, bright red hair, purple eyes. He stuck out altogether, but he was rather cute. Like the older brother you wished was your little brother. Keisuke sucked in a breath, then blew it out. "That circle thing. That was pretty nifty." he said, gesturing to her. She did it again. His eyes lit. Well, the only visible eye. Though none of her two eyes showed, so noticing this was rather ironic. "What are you doing out here anyway?" Yuri asked. "Ditching. Not your school, but mine." he answered.
Yuri's first reaction was to stay away, especially since she was a goody-goody. After a long look at him, she decided he wasn't at all bad. Just making a rather stupid choice. Keisuke reached over and gave her forehead a flick. "I can so read your mind." he said, frowning. "Oh? What did I just think?" Yuri said, rubbing her hair. ". . .I dunno. I give up. Anyways, it's freezing," Keisuke said, shrugging, "so let's start walking. I'll take you home." Yuri nodded. "Okay. Thanks." she said. "Oh! I'm Keisuke Ryuji." he said, laughing. "You know who I am." Yuri said, blowing a circle again. "What time is it, anyway?" Keisuke asked.
"Time to get a watch."
"That joke is so old."
"Yea."
"No, really. Time."
"Uhm. . ."
Keisuke burst laughing. "You don't know either, huh?" he asked. "Let me see. . ." she said, taking her phone out. "It's 3-ish." she said. Keisuke swiped her phone and examined it. "Hold on," he said. He tore his phone out and ripped a keychain off. He fastened it to hers. "See, look at this." he said. Keisuke held her phone up, as well as his. "Why not check your phone?" she muttered. Keisuke chuckled. "Just 'cause I wanted to see yours." he said. "One more thing." he said, flipping her phone open. He dialed something then saved it. "Alright, here." he said, handing it back. "What did you do?" she asked curiously.
"Nothing much. You're home." he said, pointing to her house. "A-Ah, you're right." she said, feeling warm and fuzzy. Eww. I need to see a doctor. . . She looked up and saw Keisuke walking away. "K-Keisuke-kun! Thank you! Bye!" she called nervously. Keisuke looked back, then grinned. He waved. "See you later, Ninomiya-chan!" he called back. A gust of wind then rocketed by them. His hair flew back. Yuri gasped.
An artificial right eye. Keisuke didn't notice her staring (he couldn't tell), so he assumed she hadn't seen. His right eye was still purple, but it was dull and without shine. It appeared darker then the left one. He waved again and started walking away. Yuri, startled, opened her phone to avoid thinking about it. She checked around, then saw what he did. Her contact list was empty, until she noticed he had added himself onto her phone. His number and all was right there. Shakily, she dialed his number. After a few rings, he picked up. "Ninomiya-san? What's wrong?" Keisuke asked. "N-Nothing. Thanks again." she said, stunned. It was really him. Not some faulty number. He was laughing. "Alright, alright. See you later." he said, hanging up. See you later. What a nice phrase. She closed her phone as well, then walked inside. Then it occured to her. How did he know where I lived?

~Intro~

I probably shouldn't be making even MORE stories when I haven't even gotten to chapter two or even short story number two of some of my stuff. I just rolled my eyes. Heh heh. Anyways, this one is LAW.Not like, "My word is law," kinda law. The name is LAW. All caps. Makes it look all important. LAW. . .Anyways, let's go over the usual introduction. . .

Rating
Older teen, 13+. There's obviously violence and blood (ROFL, as always) and mild gore. However, there is a little something new. Ever seen Repo! The Genetic Opera? (Mom probably just screamed, "Oh no~!!!" ROFL, Only my mother reads my blogs. . .xDDD Besides her friends and all.) So, Repo! is pre'y bad. Very gory and smexual. I have no intention of bringing that in. What I'm doing that's Repo-ish is the submarket kinda thing. There's this stuff called Zydrate that's like an anesthetic, and that's what I'm using, though I'm calling it something else. Anyways, like Zydrate, LAW's drug is highly addictive. Just like any other drug. So I guess that's what we would call Drug Reference. So there's some of that stuff in LAW. When I explain the plot you'll get why. Again, some-kissing-and-stuff (I'm actually a romance junkie! Imagine.) Basically, the only thing that's new is the drug reference. (See how I changed the usual "12+" to "13+"?)

Plot
Ninomiya Yuri is invisible. Not literally, but she just blends into the background. She has absolutely no friends, no numbers in her cell phone, and her father is always across oceans. Recently, after the mysterious death of Yuri's mother and twin sister, Yiru, her father develops a drinking and gambling problem. However, things seem to look up when the delinquent Keisuke talks to Yuri, and befriends her. As soon as Yuri believes she has a cute, unusual looking friend, her father unexpectedly comes home. Drunk. Worse yet. . .He has accumulated a debt of 3 million. Hard cash. Unable to pay for even liquor, he has made a deal with the man to which he owes money. . .He sold Yuri's organs. Yuri thinks it's a bad dream, until she starts to be followed and chased. Her only hope is to depend on one of the most dangerous of these Assassins. However, since he's so artful in his killings, he has been assigned to gain possession of Yuri's organs. Yuri has two options: Depend on this Assassin and pray to God he's in the mood to let her live, or to allow herself to be torn apart. Whatever she does, though, she must follow the Rules. After all. . .
It's Law.

I know it sounds dark and terrible (not as in BAD, but SAD), and it actually is, kinda. LAW is even darker than PeAcH and Sue-Miyu, but I like it. Not to mention it'll cheer up. xD Not your typical Mafia story. Even though it sounds like a whole melodramatic mafia plot, it's about Assassins, bounty hunters, street sweepers, black markets, the lower of society. It's about hope and courage in the face of death, and, of course, unconditional friendship and trust between ether friends or family. This is a rather upliifting story, if you can see past the blacker parts of it.

Oh! Announcement! Their names are obviously Japanese, and so is the way you read them. In Japan, a person's last name is said first. For example, Keisuke Ryuji is the Japanese way, but if I were to say his name in English, it would be Ryuji Keisuke. So the names are kinda reversed. I'll be adding this announcement to each of my blogs.
